Brian Sellers

His knifemaking journey began out of a need for a suitable carving blade. And he just fell in love with the process.

Brian grew up in a construction family; their business was specialized in floor coverings. He was raised with a knife and hammer in hand. He also had a creative streak. In hindsight it seems inevitable to him that he would gravitate to bladesmithing. After attending a school for commercial arts and designer drafting, he started out painted landscapes, tattooing on skin, and carving wood. In fact, his knifemaking journey began out of a need for a suitable carving blade. And he just fell in love with the process. This hasn’t changed. He believes that the fluid geometry of a properly curved blade is essential in its cutting performance, as is playing with the possibilities to achieve the desired weight and balance; and the visual appeal of a recurved blade, in his opinion, is unmatched.
